Meet Our Trustees
Sally
Hi, I'm Sally Nutbeem and am currently Chair of Trustees for Mindful, having been invited to join as a trustee in 2015. I am passionately interested in dementia and have previously worked in this field for both Age UK and the Alzheimer's Society. I also volunteer for Dementia Friendly Shaftesbury. My leisure interests include nature, wildlife, playing table tennis, sport generally and walking our dog through the beautiful Dorset countryside.
Barbara
Hi, I'm Barbara and I am currently Mindful's Membership Secretary. I have volunteered with Mindful for about 10 years, and help to run the Gillingham and Stalbridge Cafes on a regular basis. I am also involved in a variety of other local voluntary activities. I worked as a POPP Wayfinder for 9 years, giving me an insight into supporting clients in the community.
Mike
Hi, I'm Mike and I help to run the Men Marching On group. Having taught science and IT for many years, I am now working as the Roman Catholic Chaplain at HMP Guys Marsh. I am a permanent deacon in the Catholic Church, married to Barbara, with three sons and one grand-daughter. I enjoy singing, playing the guitar, and spending time with my family.
Peter
Hi, I'm Peter. I first became involved with Mindful through singing and playing the piano at our cafes. In 2019 I was invited to become a trustee. I am also a trustee of the House of Illustration, the UK’s first museum celebrating the art of illustration; and Mercury Musical Developments, which promotes writers of musical theatre. I also volunteer with the Princes Trust.
Michelle
Hi my name is Michelle.
I started as a volunteer at the Gillingham Mindful Cafe in February 2020, and recently I have been invited to become a trustee with Mindful.
I worked in the care sector for many years and I look forward to working alongside the Mindful team.
I enjoy walking, nature, singing, lawn bowls and spending time with family and friends.
